About Home Claim Pushback

Home Claim Pushback exists to give homeowners a clear, do-it-yourself path to fighting a denied, delayed, or underpaid home insurance claim — and getting the payout their policy actually owes them — without automatically handing a public adjuster or attorney a cut of the money.

Why this site

When an insurer denies or lowballs a claim, most homeowners don't know their options: that they can appeal in writing, request the full claim file, invoke the appraisal clause, challenge depreciation, or point to bad-faith conduct. When people search for help, they mostly find insurer marketing or firms pitching paid services. Almost no one just hands you the plain-English steps and the letters to send. That is the gap this site fills.

Who runs it

My name is Andrea. I research and write every guide here, and I keep them updated. I am not a lawyer, public adjuster, or insurance company, and this site is not affiliated with any insurer or agency — it is an independent, homeowner-first resource.

How the content is made

Each guide is built from primary sources: standard homeowners policy language (HO-3/HO-5), state department of insurance guidance, and unfair-claims-practices statutes. Where a rule or deadline varies by state or insurer — and it almost always does — we say so and point you to where to confirm it. Our guides are drafted with the assistance of AI tools and are then reviewed and edited by a human editor, Andrea Papa, who holds editorial responsibility for what we publish; we publish only after human review.

Editorial independence

We are not paid by insurers, public adjusters, or law firms, and we do not take a cut of anything. The site is supported by advertising. Our goal is simple: help you understand your policy and your rights and act on them yourself.

Important

Everything here is general information, not legal, financial, or insurance advice, and no outcome is guaranteed. Insurance policies, claim rules, and deadlines vary by state and insurer and can change — always verify with your policy, your state department of insurance, or a licensed professional. Questions?
